SNMP Test Server
SimpleTester for Workgroups brings the functionality of the popular SimpleTester product to a network licensed, multi-user environment. Multiple users can simultaneously login from different machines and test different devices using their own personalized test environment.
The SimpleTester for Workgroups product is installed on one central server and the server disk is mapped on to each user's individual PC as a network drive. The licensing server and all the data files (MIBs, scripts, results) reside on the central server. The test application is invoked on the user's PC and it accesses the central server to login and get the data files. The "floating" license allows the same user to retain their test environment and carry out tests from a PC in the lab as well as the desktop in their office.
The architecture allows multiple users to share MIBs and scripts from a common area while retaining their own user specific files. Since all the scripts, MIBs and result files for all the different users are on one central server, it is also easy to back up and restore the work of all the team members.
SimpleTesterLite and SimpleTester are ideal for an individual tester. The SimpleTester for Workgroups brings the SimpleTester functionality to an entire test department with multiple users.
Hardware and Software Requirements
The SimpleTester for Workgroups requires the following:
- IBM PC (or compatible). with network card.
- 32M of RAM and 5M of disk space.
- Microsoft Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP for the Server and Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP for the Clients
